We made our candles with soy wax to prevent selling a product that contained harmful chemicals. Paraffin wax and soy wax are the top most used base ingredients for candles, but the word paraffin is another term for petroleum. Paraffin wax candles are made with oil byproducts and, when burned, can release cancer-causing agents into your home. Soy candles, on the other hand, are clean-burning candles that won’t turn your air toxic. Reuse Your Jars
We are working hard every day to come up with more eco-friendly ways to operate our candle subscription boxes. Currently, we do accept your spent candle jars in store to be reused for a new candle. If you live near Lethbridge, Alberta, you can bring your old Ebony & Ivory candle jar to be reused in a future batch.

Our Packaging
We are conscious of waste. The box your candle subscription box uses is fully recyclable, and anything that comes in the box can either be recycled or reused. Our team made a very conscious decision on the packaging, and we are still looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. When it comes to making our candles, we don’t use unnecessary machines that use unnecessary power; we employ real people who are paid fairly and have good working conditions.
