Before candles, I worked in cosmetics. And in that world, ingredients meant everything. So I started paying closer attention… reading labels, researching what was actually in the products I was using every day.

And what I found didn’t sit right. A lot of those ingredients weren’t just unnecessary. They were harsh. Some were even harmful.

Then I went home and started looking at everything else I used. The products under my sink. The sprays I used on my counters. The things I cleaned my table with… the same places I cooked and where my kids would sit down to eat.

And I realized those same kinds of ingredients were everywhere. As a mom, that hit differently.

So when I started Ebony & Ivory, it was never just about making something that smelled good. It was about making something better.

I started with candles. Creating scents that were meaningful, realistic, and full of heart, while still keeping the ingredients clean and safe. And as the business grew, so did the vision.

Creating a cleaner felt like the next step that actually mattered. Because no matter who you are, everyone needs to have a clean home.

I wanted something effective, but safe. Something you could use every day without second guessing what’s left behind.
